I'm thankful for you today and every day

[image description: Two old, worn hardcover books with brass figurines of a squirrel and whale on top of them as decor.]

It’s Thanksgiving week here in the US and while I don’t like holidays rooted in colonialism and the genocide of indigenous people, I choose to think of Thanksgiving as a day of contemplating the things I’m grateful for. (And eating casserole. Because casserole is good for the soul.)

So that’s the spirit of this post. I want you to know I’m thankful for you today and every day. Here’s why:

I’m thankful for your time, attention, thoughtful comments, and the way you so generously share your own book recommendations.

I’m humbled and appreciative that you trust me to give you book recommendations. I try to highlight the good stuff.

I’m thankful for the way you inspire discussions and give me new ways to think about books, publishing, and reading as a whole.

I’m grateful for the way you support my writing, constantly cheering me on, reading my essays and poems as they’re published, and your enthusiasm for my future books.

I’m especially appreciative of your friendship, both on- and offline.

And more than ever, so I’m beyond grateful for you supporting me, my mission, and this blog through buying my ebooks, hiring me for editing projects, using my Bookshop link to buy books, buying vintage books from my Etsy shop, and more. Now that this is my full-time job, your support means more to me than ever.

Last but certainly not least, I’m thankful for the twists and turns my life has taken, especially as of late, that has given me more time to spend in this space that fills my cup.

And because I’m grateful for you, if there’s anything I can do to make this community better, stronger, and more fun, please let me know! I’m open to any and all ideas.

Y’all rock. Thanks for reading Off the Beaten Shelf.
