A video of me reading an excerpt from my forthcoming book!

I got to do a fun thing this weekend! I went to the Columbus Arts Festival and read an excerpt from my forthcoming book, Midwest Shreds: Skaters and Skateparks in Middle America.

I skated to the festival, which wasn’t very efficient because of the brick pathway (see in the video). Though it was treacherous, I managed not to fall, so I’ll count that as a win.

It wasn’t just me reading: fellow writer-skaters Samantha Tucker and Amy Spears, who have a memoir of Ohio Roller Derby coming out were there, as was Jonathan Russell Clark, who has an Object Lessons book on skateboards coming out this fall. Andrew Miller and Brittany Moseley read as well.

Since it was the Columbus Arts Festival, I read an excerpt from the Columbus chapter of the book. Enjoy!
